ENGINES ON AT ALAHARMA.

Free practice was the opening event of a weekend which might be crucial in the race towards the CIK-FIA European titles for the OK and OKJ categories. The drivers are eager to take part in the Qualifying Practices and then in the Heats, which are part of tomorrow’s programme. They were observed by the FIA President Mr. Jean Todt, who came to the Powerpark Circuit in Alaharma, Finland, to visit the penultimate event of the CIK-FIA European Championship. The CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy, on the other hand, is at its last and decisive race: the one-make event on karts Exprit-Vortex-Bridgestone is at its third and final appointment: all is ready to award the winner of the 2017 edition. So, there is a lot at stake in Finland for the international karting: the 168 drivers who arrived in Alaharma from all around the world are all ready to do their best to achieve a top result during this Finnish weekend.

ON VIDEO FROM FINLAND.
The event from Finland will be available on video worldwide. Fans of kart racing will be able to follow the races thanks to the Internet. In fact, they will be able to follow the live timing of the preliminary stage and then, on Sunday 23rd July, they will be able to watch the decisive Heats and the Finals thanks to the live streaming on cikfiachampionship.com and cikfia.tv, starting from 10:25am. A further analysis of the whole weekend will be dealt with in the special TV report on Motorsport.TV, to be aired the following week.

DON’T MISS THE BATTLES FOR THE TOP POSITIONS IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS.
In the OK, the Spanish David Vidales (Tony Kart-Vortex-LeCont) aims at widening the gap between him and the French Theo Pourchaire (Kosmic-Vortex), who is now only one point behind the leader. After his victory in the previous appointment at Le Mans, the Italian Lorenzo Travisanutto (Zanardi-Parilla) - in third position - seems in great shape. The OKJ leader is the British Jonny Edgar (Exprit-TM-Vega), even though the German O’neill Muth (Zanardi-Parilla) and his fellow countryman Harry Thompson (FA Kart-Vortex) follow closely. The Academy, too, is still very uncertain in its standings: here the Belgian Xavier Handsaeme is the leader ahead of the Dutch Tijmen van del Helm and the French Sami Meguetounif. There are growing expectations about the name of the winners in Finland: tomorrow morning, after the Qualifying practice, we might have some more indications.
